It is the direct connection to you – my client – it is learning about you, being able to tell your story, and creating a piece that you will treasure forever that excites me. After more than 1000 commissions, I still feel this same excitement.
In the 20+ years I have been working as a jewellery designer, I have learnt that my strength is my inquisitive nature. It’s my capacity to understand and read people, their personality and individual values that allows me to visualise a design to perfectly suit their style.
THE BOUNDARIES ARE LIMITLESS
I didn’t start as a bespoke jeweller. Initially I trained at Central Saint Martins, where I learnt to structure my design process, learning to distil a multitude of inspirations into just one design. I began my career at Solange Azagury-Partridge. Solange taught me that anything is possible in jewellery design.
I went on to set up my own brand in 2010. Initially, I created collections to be sold in stores like Dover Street Market. However, my passion and drive was really ignited once I began making bespoke pieces.

I have clients of all ages and backgrounds, and with a whole host of professions, and have been commissioned to create pieces to celebrate a multitude of moments. From engagements to marriage. From the birth of a child to big anniversaries or important birthdays. I feel truly honoured to have the opportunity to help you mark these milestones.
With me, creating a bespoke piece is a journey of discovery. A journey that ends with a sincerely personal jewel that should wow you every time you see it.

Some of the best goldsmiths in the world are based in the UK and I am honoured to have two of them on my team. Working together over many years, my craftspeople have built a true understanding of my design language. Their incredible skill and ability allows them to consistently and beautifully translate my vision in gold, design after design.

Since the inception of my brand I have tried to work in the most responsible, ethical and transparent way I can. For me this began with local, British production, but it also extends to the materials I work with.
Your bespoke engagement ring, celebration pendant, or customised earrings can be created with Fairmined gold from responsible artisanal, ethical and small-scale mining organisations. Fairmined is an organisation that helps to transform mining into an active force for good, ensuring social development and environmental protection. I am proud that Hattie Rickards Jewellery was one of the first licensees of the Fairmined Standard in the UK.
I also have a partnership with De Beers Code of Origin, which means I can create your jewellery with diamonds that are ethical, natural and conflict free. Mined by De Beers directly in Botswana, Canada, Namibia or South Africa, your diamonds will have helped to improve the lives of the communities they were sourced from, providing jobs, healthcare and education, as well as wildlife conservation.
