Old cut diamond cushion, surrounded by a halo of custom cut diamonds, bezel set in platinum
A diverting halo ring created with a treasured hierloom diamond
THE STORY
This lovely client inherited an heirloom ring when her Granny sadly passed away last year. She wanted to commission a bespoke ring, more suited to her style, whilst preserving the priceless sentimentality of the original ring. The Victorian heirloom featured a beautiful old cut cushion. Old cuts are diamonds cut in a time before electricity, each one is hand faceted, giving them a unique lustre that glows under candlelight. We decided we wanted to make the variety of cuts and facets a real feature in the new design, by surrounding her heirloom with a sparkling halo of custom cut diamonds. 3.75 cts of carré and baguette cut diamonds were trimmed especially for this design. Each facet catches the light in a different way, creating a dancing spectacle of radiance. This halo ring is quite simply cutting edge.
MATERIALS
Client’s own cushion cut diamond, bezel set and surrounded by a halo of custom cut baguette and carré cut diamonds. 2mm old cuts are flush set into a split platinum shank.
