THE STORY
Poppy and Walter came to me, already engaged, looking to commission their perfect ring. As the couple are based in Singapore we worked together remotely to create their dream design.
Poppy knew she wanted a bold gold ring, with a modern sunny yellow gemstone in the centre of the design. I proposed elevating an emerald cut yellow sapphire by flanking it with diamond baguettes which would echo the graphic cut of the central stone. Decorating the band with HRJ signature custom cut Carré diamond arches on the front and back. The couple loved the design, so I set off in search of the perfect step cut sapphire with a delicious golden hue.
After weeks of searching I managed to locate two sapphires with the perfect proportions for our design. On meeting the stones, Poppy knew immediately the sapphire that felt 100% her – a 4.8ct emerald cut with a gorgeous sunny hue, which would be paired with 1.44cts of diamond baguettes.
