At the centre of this pendant is a radiant cushion cut Ruby that was originally gifted by my clients husband to celebrate the birth of their first child (a beautiful girl named Ruby). They have since had two gorgeous boys which are represented by the sparkling diamonds that sit on the chain either side of the central star (we took the two diamonds from an unworn family ring). We also recycled the gold from several heirlooms.

My client is a jewellery fanatic, and knew she wanted a pendant that would celebrate her family, and that she could have the option to layer with her treasured necklaces or wear alone. When it came to designing the shape of the disc, we took inspiration from the sunburst found in the centre of many of my enamel pendants, also inspiring the diamond rays that surround the central ruby. We then added a gorgeous chunky chain perfectly suited to her style.

Their children are little rays of light, and this pendant is daily celebration of their radiance. The initials of their children are engraved on the back of the pendant.
